#NextStageChallenge Covid-19 hackathon reveals its six winners | Music Ally

Music Ally is one of the partners for the #NextStageChallenge hackathon, which is seeking inventive tech projects capable of helping musicians who are grappling with the economic impact of Covid-19.

The two-week hackathon closed on 15 May, and yesterday saw six winners announced across its three categories (Access, Fan Engagement and Value) as well as another six chosen for the challenge’s follow-on acceleration program.

The Access category winners were NEMT, a package of software tools that help electronic musicians and DJs in different locations to perform together in livestreams; and JamSpace, a solution for musicians to jam and rehearse remotely with the lowest possible latency.

The Fan Engagement category winners were 0W1, with tech helping fans to interact more with online concerts, from cheering and singing to chatting with artists; and virtual worlds startup Alissia.

The Value category winners were Kooati, with its plans to help artists make money from livestreams with ticket sales, subscriptions, virtual items and sponsorship; and Kendraio, a rights-management dashboard for musicians and rightsholders.

Meanwhile, the six ‘fast-track’ winners were: Omnilive (multi-angle video); PatchXR (a music-making solution dubbed ‘the Minecraft of music’); Gramrphone (a tool helping musicians to stream high-quality audio; Stagecast (interactive livestreams); Tappable (tech for turning Instagram Stories into websites; and Hyperlive (which predicts fan engagement in tracks before release).
