Streaming service Deezer is launching in Japan in partnership with Onkyo & Pioneer and Yamaha.
The Spotify rival claims that it will be the first streaming platform to offer lossless CD quality audio in the region.
The Deezer HiFi service will stream 16-bit FLAC CD quality on Onkyo & Pioneer high-resolution DAP systems, and Yamaha Network Receiver connected amplifiers through the MusicCast App.
Japanese customers will also have access to Deezer Premium+ benefits and to Deezer Flow, a personal soundtrack based on smart data and editorial recommendations.
Henrik Karlberg, Deezer CEO Asia, said: “With Japan as the music market leader in Asia, in addition to its heavy focus on artists, design excellence and technology innovation, it is an honour to be working with Onkyo & Pioneer and Yamaha – both hugely progressive brands in the technology world – to bring fans even closer to their favourite songs and artists.
“we will not only be able to deliver a fully immersive listening experience to customers but, together, we will be writing a brand new chapter in the Japanese music scene.”
