Michael Angelakos, the frontman of Passion Pit, has reportedly raised $250 million to launch a company that will support musician with legal, educational and healthcare services.
A New York City-based company called The Wishart Group raised the funding with contributions from big names in music and tech, according to Mashable. Angelakos, who declined to comment, could announce a launch as early as this week.
One focus of the project, described as an "Artist Research and Protection Service," will be mental health. Angelakos was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 17.
